T-Scan

A balanced bite relationship is a very important factor for the retention of your teeth. An un-equilibrated bite can elicit problems throughout time. If your bite is healthy, your teeth will come in an ideal way to permit unrestricted simultaneous movements. This establishes a harmony for the jaw joint and maximum protection of the teeth, surrounding bone and supporting muscles.

An important instrument that we have integrated is the T-Scan computer bite analysis system. The T-Scan has an ultra-thin sensor that, when placed in your mouth, reads and reports the occlusion (alignment and spacing of your teeth when you bite down) instantly into a computer file. The device sensor is ultra-sensitive: reading the balance of the bite, force trajectory, and other necessary indicators that help determine treatment needs. This revolutionary tool helps us in determining the proper bite relationship when we equilibrate the bite.

Equilibration can prevent you from experiencing a multitude of problems:

  • Loose teeth
  • Pain when chewing
  • Tooth ache, sensitive teeth
  • Jaw joint pain
  • Muscle pain
  • Headaches
  • Loss of tooth structure at the gum line
  • Gum recession
  • Bone loss around the teeth

This system is vital in the detection and treatment plan for TMJ Related Issues as well as other potential diseases.
